Dr. Moshel is a neurosurgeon and serves as co-director of the Gerald J. Glasser Brain Tumor Center as well as medical director of neurosurgery for Atlantic Health System and chairman of neurosurgery for Morristown Medical Center. He specializes in advanced surgical techniques for removal of complex benign and malignant brain and spine tumors. Dr. Moshel is one of a select few surgeons who specialize in deep-seated brain tumors using technology that includes computer-guided navigation, awake intraoperative brain mapping, endoscopy, and microsurgery. He is also an expert in surgical approaches to the skull base and pituitary utilizing both microsurgical and minimally invasive endoscopic endonasal techniques. Dr. Moshel is actively involved in advancing the treatment of brain tumors and has been an investigator on several national Phase II-III brain tumor clinical trials and has authored numerous peer reviewed papers and book chapters. Dr. Moshel received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from State University of New York in Brooklyn and trained in Neurosurgery at New York University Medical Center. He completed advanced fellowship training in Neuro-Oncology, Stereotactic and Skull Base Surgery at NYU and a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill-Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Moshel served as Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and is currently Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at NYU Langone Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and he is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, North American Skull Base Society and AANS/CNS Joint Section on Tumors. Dr. Moshel is actively involved in the training and mentoring of neurosurgical residents and serves as a reviewer for the Scientific Program Committee of the AANS Tumor Section. Dr. Moshel has received numerous awards for his clinical excellence and is actively involved in the Center for Hope brain tumor support group. His most important daily focus is on patient care, and he has been recognized for his unwavering commitment and dedication to his patients. During his free time, Dr. Moshel enjoys gardening, cooking, traveling and spending time with his family.
