Dr. Mona Karim is vice chair of the radiation oncology department of Morristown Medical Center. Her major clinical and research interests include breast, gastrointestinal, head and neck, thoracic, and pediatric cancers. Dr. Karim's other areas of clinical interest are breast brachytherapy and stereotactic radiation.
She received her bachelor of arts degree, cum laude, from Harvard University and her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, including a one year American Heart Association Medical Student Research Fellowship. Her post-doctoral training was in radiation oncology at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. Previously, Dr. Karim was assistant professor at the Department of Radiation Oncology, UMDNJ - New Jersey Medical School. Her responsibilities included the clinical practice in radiation oncology and preceptorship of medical students. Her research has been published in the Journal of Molecular Carcinogenesis and the Einstein Quarterly Journal of Biology and Medicine.
She is a member of The American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO), Children's Oncology Group (COG), and Physicians for Human Rights. Among recognition from her peers, Dr. Mona Karim is a multiple-year recipient of the "Best Doctors in America?" award. She is affiliated with Atlantic Medical Group, and is a participating provider of Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
