Kevin M. McElligott, MD, is a fellowship-trained cardiologist with Atlantic Medical Group. Board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine and in echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography, he maintains certifications with the Board of Nuclear Cardiology, American Board of Cardiovascular Disease, National Board of Echocardiography. He has more than 10 years of clinical expertise treating adult patients with a wide variety of cardiovascular conditions, including cardiac arrhythmia, coronary artery disease, heart rhythm disorders and heart failure. Dr. McElligott is committed to providing each patient with personalized, compassionate care.
After earning his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, where he received a research preceptorship from the Rheumatology Research Foundation, Dr. McElligott performed his residency in internal medicine at West Virginia University, Morgantown, where he was named best teaching resident and resident of then month. He then advanced his training with a cardiology fellowship at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, Tampa.
Prior to joining Atlantic Medical Group, Dr. McElligott served as an assistant professor in the division of cardiology at the Medical University of South Carolina. He has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented at national conferences. He is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
