John J Oppenheimer, MD

John J. Oppenheimer, MD, is an allergist-immunologist with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Board-certified in allergy and immunology by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology, and in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he has more than 30 years of experience treating disorders of the immune system, including food, insect, and respiratory allergies, eczema, asthma, and immune deficiencies. He is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care to all patients, and making sure they are educated about their condition and treatment.

After earning his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA, Dr. Oppenheimer performed a residency in internal medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ. He then completed a fellowship in allergy and clinical immunology at the National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine, Denver, CO. He also holds a BA in biology from Lafayette College and has served as a clinical professor and prior introduction to clinical medicine course director at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark, NJ, and as an instructor in medicine at the University of Colorado Health Science Center and National Jewish Center in Colorado.

Dr. Oppenheimer has authored over 300 publications, delivered numerous national and international presentations, received multiple awards, and is a member of professional organizations such as the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology, American College of Allergy and Immunology, and New Jersey Allergy and Immunology Society. He previously served as chairman of the board of directors for the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
