Dr. Cindy Codispoti is a fellowship trained cardiologist with Atlantic Medical Group, where she provides a wide range of non-invasive and minimally-invasive diagnostic procedures for her patients. Using treatments such as cardiac catheterization, transesophageal echocardiography, direct current cardioversion and stress testing, Dr. Codispoti can diagnose heart disease at the earliest stages. She also uses advanced imaging known as coronary CT angiography to evaluate blocked arteries and cardiac MRI for advanced structural heart disease. Having served over 14 years on Active duty in the United States Army, Dr. Codispoti has gained global medical expertise and perspective. Her dedication to U.S. military troops, retirees and veterans earned her multiple awards, commendations and service medals for outstanding work. She served as teaching faculty at Brooke Army Medical Center for four years after completion of her fellowship training, and was recognized for her clinical teaching and excellence, as recipient of the John W. McClure Cardiology award. Dr. Codispoti also assumed several leadership roles throughout that time, as hospital ST- Elevation Myocardial Infarction Team Leader, working collaboratively with other Cardiologists, nursing staff and Emergency Medical Services across San Antonio to improve door to balloon times city-wide, for patients presenting with potentially fatal heart attacks. Additional leadership roles throughout her tenure included Quality Assurance Director, Cardiology Clinic Director, and Director of Echocardiography. In 2009, Dr. Codispoti deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom to a Combat Support Hospital. There she served as Director of the Intensive Care unit and theater Cardiology consultant. Several months after her return to Brooke Army Medical Center, she transferred to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany for four years, where she was appointed Chief of Cardiology Services and Cardiology Consultant to the European Regional Medical Command. Upon separation from Active duty in 2014, Dr. Codispoti joined a busy private practice in New Jersey and continued to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves. Dr. Codispoti is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease. She is dedicated to quality patient care and is uniquely interested in complex cardiac diseases, including cardiac computed tomography, congestive heart failure, coronary disease, valvular heart disease, preventive cardiology, and the challenges related to women and heart disease. Dr. Codispoti is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization. In her free time, Dr. Codispoti enjoys dancing, music and theater arts, travel, culinary arts, hiking, and even some sports.
