Cindy Codispoti, DO, FACC, is a fellowship-trained cardiologist with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG), where she provides a wide range of noninvasive and minimally invasive diagnostic procedures for her patients. She is dedicated to quality patient care and treats complex cardiac diseases including coronary artery disease, acute myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, and valvular heart disease. Using modalities such as stress testing, ambulatory monitoring, echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, CT coronary calcium scoring, CT angiography, cardiac MRI, and cardiac catheterization, Dr. Codispoti can diagnose heart disease at the earliest stages.
Having served 25 years in the United States Army, Dr. Codispoti has gained global medical expertise and perspective. Her dedication to U.S. military troops, retirees, and veterans earned her multiple awards, commendations, and service medals for outstanding work. She served as teaching faculty at Brooke Army Medical Center for four years and received the John W. McClure Cardiology Award for clinical and teaching excellence. She assumed several leadership roles throughout her time in the military. As hospital ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction team leader, she collaborated with medical professionals throughout San Antonio to improve emergent treatment of potentially fatal acute myocardial infarctions, leading to significant improvements in the time to treatment. Additional leadership roles included quality assurance director, cardiology clinic director, and director of echocardiography. In 2009, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Dr. Codispoti deployed to a combat support hospital as director of the intensive care unit and theater cardiology consultant. After her return, she transferred to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany to serve as chief of cardiology services and consultant to the European Regional Medical Command. Upon separation from active duty in 2014, Dr. Codispoti joined a busy private practice and continued to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves. She joined Atlantic Medical Group in 2019, and is the medical director of AMG Cardiology at Hackettstown and Sparta. Additional leadership roles include vice chair of the cardiology department at Hackettstown Medical Center, hospital credentialing committee member, AMG Lipid Workgroup member, and the NJ American College of Cardiology Political Action Committee member. Dr. Codispoti retired from the U.S. Army Reserves in 2021.
Dr. Codispoti is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease. Special interests include cardiac computed tomography, preventive cardiology, lipid management, and the unique challenges related to women and heart disease. She is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
