What you need to know about 3D mammograms
Why choose 3D mammograms?
Traditional mammograms use four images -- two on each side -- to create 2D images of the breast. 3D mammograms use many images from several angles of the breast to create much more detailed, three-dimensional, images of breast tissue that reveal more detail, such as very small distortions and masses. These images give a more complete picture, resulting in higher cancer detection rates and lower false positives.

3D mammograms save lives
Women who receive regular breast screenings have a lower breast cancer death rate. Among screening methods, digital breast tomosynthesis offers an improved cancer detection rate of nearly 30 percent.
If you are over 40 or have a family history of breast cancer, scheduling regular screenings is one of the most important things you can do to protect your health.
